Duplicate Requisition or PO in a Back to Back ordering process. Is it possible!! ?

We have a back to back (SO - Req - PO, not drop-ship) setup. For every single sales order we create a single Requisition and PO.

For ex: Let say, Sales order# 90890 is created having line# 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.

        Our process will automatically create Requisition 4567 with line# 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.

        Also, it automatically creates PO# 8768 with line# 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Let's consider a scenario where an Sales order is created and tied to Requisition# 4567 and PO# 8768. But, business has buffer inventory to use. We do not have auto-reservation feature turned on (as this doesn't look at past due orders).

PS: This is a debatable scenario but not necessarily a standard one.
