New Hire Event - How to stop from changing after 30 days?

Hello, We are going to start using the new hire process flow for making elections within 30 days of hire. In P08500 or any other app, is there a way to prevent people from making changes outside of the first thirty days of employment, or is it up to us to accept or decline the changes?
