Item Master Data Duplicate Value

Dear All

We are using PeopleSoft FSCM 9-2, peopletools 8.42 with zero/no update image.

Kindly suggest a way to stop a user from entering a duplicate value/ same name/description (navigation:Main Menu- Items Define Items and Attributes - Define Item) in the item master data, i.e. we don't want two items with the same name/description as it will create anomalies in the system.
