ship confirm - past date and consequenses on financial level

Hello

I have a question on ship confirm

if our inventory period is still open , and if today we are november and if october is still open

i can ship confirm still in october.

i've also seen that hte material transaction date is October (profile option set that this is still possible)

I wonder what the consequences are for costing etc.. and also for AR , GL if these are still open

although my sysdate , creation_date , last_update date will be november, my transaction date eg for mat trx is october

and what will happen with inventory valuation and GL --
