Unable to update install base current location and install location manually

We have Install Base trackable items and have below scenarios:

1. Sometime our contract starts even if item is in inventory: User need to update install location to customer location and keep current location as sub-inventory location

2. Sometime contract ends but asset is at customer location: User need to update current location as customer location and install location as sub-inventory location

We are not looking for auto update of current location and/or install location but just looking if these are updatable so that user can update it manually
