Can we build Data Guard configuration between two Oracle Versions like 11gr2 primary and 12cr1 stand

Hello Friends,

Is it possible to build a data guard confgiration with 11gr2 as primary and 12r1 as standby database.

Operating systems are the same on both the servers.

Is there any documentation I can read to gain more knowledge on this information. Please help.
