Can the library be still accessible if one of the tape drives(faulty) removed from Web interface

We have a situation where one of the tape drives is faulty and needs replacement. If I remove it from the web interface, will it affect library status? Actually drive replacement will take some more time but till that time I want to remove the drive from software side. Because our backup application is trying to access the drive.

Library is SL150
