X6-HA purchase - Infiniband versus 10G network connection

edited Dec 8, 2016 3:12PM in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) (MOSC) 5 commentsAnswered ✓

When purchasing an ODA X6-HA there are two options.  Infiniband or 10 GbE SFP+ card

What I need to determine is if I can order the X6-HA with the 10 GbE SFP+ card and later change to Infiniband.

The reason is our current Cisco switches do not support 10G-Base-T connections so to get a 10G network connection we would need to select the SPF+ option.

So my options are:

1)  Infiniband interconnect and 1Gb network connections.

or

2)  10Gb interconnect and 10Gb network connections.

We are not using RAC but are using Active Dataguard and will have multiple VM's set to fail over between nodes if required.

Howdy, Stranger!
