Has anyone tried Sale of Asset flow

Scenario:

Ship a demo to customer (Not Sold and ownership with Enterprise)

Customer likes the product and ready to buy

Solution:

1. Create a Sales Order with bill only line

2. Refer the item instance in the installation details

3. Book and run WFB process.

1. Invoice will be generated for the sale

2. IB ownership gets transferred to the customer

I have done this before 12 years and this needs addition of IB Node in the Bill only workflow. Has any one tried this in the recent past or has any information about this so that I can avoid re-inventing.
