Is it possible to Capitalize Costs from Multiple Projects to 1 Asset?

Oracle Project Costing R12.2.4.

The customer wants to capitalize from multiple projects to the same asset.

I know this is not standard functionality but are there any workarounds available?

Would the following workarounds work :

1.      Capitalize the costs from multiple projects to different assets then merge the capitalized assets in the Fixed Asset module using Group or parent child assets functionalities.
2.      Capitalize the costs from the initial project to one asset, the use the ‘add to asset’ mass addition feature  when capitalizing costs from other projects to the same asset.
