NBV Amortization

Hi

I'm migrating assets from our legacy system. We are migrating assets on its NBV and then want to amortize the depreciation over its remaining useful life.

Our setup is as follows:

Prorate Calendar: Daily

Depreciation Calendar: Monthly

Depreciation Allocation: Evenly

Current Period : Oct-16

We want to migrate the assets on certain date (16th Jan, 2016) and I've set the amortization date to 16-Jan-2016.

After I loaded the assets, I noticed that the system has calculated the accumulated depreciation from 1st Jan 2016 rather 16th Jan 2016. Is this the expected behavior? What do I need to do if I want the system to calculate deprecation from 16-Jan-2016?
