root login on serial port

Hi, we're deploying ODAs X6-2S, and X5-2.  The security team ran a scan on the X6, and one the findings suggest to remove ttyS0 (serial port) from /etc/securetty.

Has any of you done that before?  Can we just update the file to remove or comment out the entry, or could it cause other problems?
