Exporting and Importing Issues (Takes too long!)

Tools: Primavera Project Management Version 6.7 SP5

Three exporting issues:

• One XER file was 120  MB consisting of 18 project files successfully imported after 4 hours
• The next XER file was 179 MB consisting of 29 project files successfully completing after 2 hours
• Both takes too long to export

Note: The second export took place an hour after the first one completed, using the same work station, using the same company server and importing to the same Primavera database, from the memory stick.

Questions:

1. Why would these exports take too long (4 hours and2 hours)? Was it normal?
2. Why would the second exports take shorter number of hours compared to the first while it has more files, and takes up more memory space?
