FSG Rollup Summary

Hi,

I have a question regarding FSG.

In FSG for what purpose Rollup and summary are useful? I just made a Rollup and Summary of particular parent and assigned it on my row. Now when i run FSG with keeping summary check mark on, it shows the balance total balance. When i change display type to expand and keep summary check mark on, it shows the balance of its child. Its the same behaviour of FSG which can bee seen without keeping summary check mark on or without making rollups or summary?
