Vacation Accruals-Do they self adjust if ITD limit changes?

We discovered we did not set up the ITD limit on a new accrual and in testing we are not getting the balance to self adjust in payroll.  Seems to me I remember they will not and we will have to do one time overrides or manually adjust the balances.  Is it supposed to self adjust or is it manual.
