Inventory transactions- Non Financials

We are  using R12.1.3, In inventory we have one main org and one sub inventory org. All transaction for our customers  we do in INV module.

Now we have new requirement as below :

We have equipment’s used for our lab. These equipment’s will be used by our engineers for testing  . They will take from  our inventory and return after 2 or three days.

We want to record  the movement of these lab equipment’s ( date, item code, engineer name, taken or return)  without any financial  impact.

What is the best way to do this.
