Processing 1099s using the Blank Sheets Form Option in Write Media

If you do not load the latest 1099 ESU (because you do not need the fixes/enhancements), when you use the Write Media and enter 2016 as the year and use the option to print Blank Sheets, the system prints the form with year 2015 instead of 2016.  I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it might print 2016 when the system date changes to 2017.  Currently, the year in the Write Media screen changes to 2016 as soon as the system date is in 2017, but does anyone know whether it will also change the date that prints on the form?
