Please help me to understand the functionality of Inventory in respect to the field service technici

Please help me to understand the functionality of Inventory in respect to the field service technician, I wanted to know the inventory functionality leveraged by field service technician while he uses trunk stock. Specifically the high level flow of Field service and touch points with inventory to understand the inventory structure for field service and technician trunk stock in Inventory module.

How the inventory/sub-inventories are structured to help technician trunk stock and part requirements.
