CRMOD Web Services picklist value returning LIC vs display value

Hi - We have a number of web services that query records in CRMOD, and in fetching the value in a picklist field, the web service returns the Language Independent Code (LIC) value rather than the display value. Is there a parameter or setting in the web service that can be used to get the display value instead?
