using oracle 9 exp utility to access oracle 12c database

Hello,

We are currently moving to oracle 12c (12.1.0.2.0) on red hat Linux 86-64.  We have installed the software and the populated the database.  We have one process that requires us to use oracle 9.2.0.1.0 export utility that accesses the Oracle 12c database as we have partner that we exchange tables with and they are currently using Oracle 9.  We are currently able to exp using the oracle 9 exp utility that accesses an Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 and we are testing the new database to see if this option is available.  When we run process we receive the following error message:

segmentation fault


Any help is greatly appreciated.
