Oracle 11.2.0.4 Std Edtion ONE, 64-bit

ASM 11.2.0.4, standalone ASM, no cluster, no rac;  Oracle Restart

Oracle Linux 6

Found this doc while troubleshooting the exact issue it addresses.

And found issues with the work-around.

The bug is fixed in 12.2.0.2, the workaround is to run the following as grid user:

1> srvctl remove asm -f

The 12c Oracle Clusterware Admin and Deployment Guide (E48819-09)  does not list a 'srvctl remove asm' command.  It's got some 'srvctl remove' for other things, and a 'srvctl add asm', but I'm not seeing a 'srvctl remove asm'.  Have searched the pdf several times.


2> crsctl delete type ora.asm.type -unsupported
