Update Depreciation Rate question

Hi,

We have a requirement from user to update the depreciation rate for an Asset in current month i.e DEC-16 with effective date of Oct-16 and it should calculate depreciation for for Oct & Nov in current (Dec-16) month.

Please guide me how to achieve it.
