Length of Lot number in A8.1 cum 2 and A8.1 cum6.

I tested to enter transaction of inventory and PO receipt on A8.1 cum 2 and A8.1 cum 6 ,I note that I cannot input lot number more than 12 characters in A8.1 cum 2 but A8.1 cum 6 can do it.
