Function error after tools release upgrade

Hi community,

After a tools release upgrade from 9.1.5.3 to 9.1.5.9 we began to experience an error in a custom interactive application. This application worked as expected for years, and after a tools release upgrade began to throw an error when executing a sub screen in this app.

The error in the log is:

Form Name :PMUR0300_WMUR0300A subString Failed! - invalid startIndex : startIndex should be less than endIndex Corrective Action :Please Check the ER.

From the app itself, there is no error popping up. The only thing I'm seeing is that the app gets stuck in an infinite request (the loading bar in the browser's status bar never ends).
