WO auto closure for variance less than certain amount

We want to automate the WO closure process. Currently, we are running the R31804 (Variance journal entries report) manually. Which causes long processing time and consumes the individual effort.

I have couple of question regarding the same. They are -

1. Can I automate the WO closure with certain parameters (ex. WO having variance less than certain amount ( $50)) ?

2. What is the most efficient way to run the R31804 ?

3. Can I upload (like through excel) the WO in the report and run it for them ?

4. What is the most efficient way to handle the variance ?
