Lot Creation Date more recent than First Transaction for the same Lot

A customer noticed that in R12.1.3 the Creation Date of a LOT record (MTL_LOT_NUMBERS), is higher (more recent) than the first transaction done with the same LOT. Have you seen the same problem? What might have been the cause of this behavior?

I have tried to reproduce the same by creating several lots and several transactions but have not succeeded.
