Is it possible to change to the Period Type associated with a Ledger once it is in use (E-Business S

Hi,

Our Finance close-down team has requested that we incorporate an additional adjustment period into our Fiscal Year calendar.  It is understood that we cannot simply add an adjustment period to an existing Period Type combination so a new Period Type was created but the Periods for the next Fiscal Year created with the new Period Type are not useable with the existing ledger.  Is it therefore possible to change the Period Type associated with the ledger (Period Type does not appear to be editable in the Ledger Definitions) and what are the affects if it is?

We use a single, primary General Ledger with Sub-Ledger Accounting in Oracle E-Business Suite version 12.1.3.
