LOV works using seeded layout but no on custom layout copied from a seeded layout

Release: 12.2.6 - Brand new install

Layout: GL Journals - Functional single currency.

Issue: E.g in the excel from the seeded layout i can double click on the JE category and it allows me to select but on the custom layout the LOV window does not pop/ up.

The only difference between standard and custom layout is that the custom layout has 2 additional fields.

Copied the seeded GL Journals layout to a XXLayout. When i generate the Excel  from the seeded layout, i am able to double click on the field and invoke the LOV if i use the standard layout. However that doesn't work if use the custom layout.
