JDE E1 Allocations -Positive& negative balances query

This is probably one for a Financial accountant/systems accountant!

I have setup in JDE E1 9.0  some 20% Allocations based on Balances.

We have a balance for one account totalling  -4,000(negative).

So correct me if I am wrong, but we are telling the system to take 20% of -4000 so it should split it -800?

If you then look at the positive balances,  a  JA  = +100,000, 20% is then minused out : -20,000 minused to the clearing account

So to me it looks like the system will always clear to the clearing account as a negative amount, regardless of the initial balance being positive or negative.
