Oracle Patching application frequency

Hi All, and thanks for reading my question.

I work on a banking industry and I am looking to find an industry or a commom practice patch application frequency standard.

We run an exadata 4-2 and Oracle Platinum support is the team responsible to apply the patches.
As you all know, patching an exadata (all components, OS, storage, Grid Infrastructure, DB binaries, Infiniband Switches) it is not a simple task, demanding planning and great coordination.

Oracle requires an exachk to be uploaded to the SR one month in advance and we apply the patch on a Standby DR site first before taking it to PROD.
