Sales Stage Update via WF

in CRM On Demand - Administration (MOSC) Question

Is it possible to create a backward integration? Like from Quote object back to Opportunity object? I tried to create a Workflow that will update the value of the Sales Stage of the associated opportunity record base on the Status of the Quote Record.
