ZFS DR Procedure

Hello All,

I'm sure this horse has been beatin many times in the past and maybe you could point me to the correct answer if there is one.

I’m looking for a procedure to restore a ZFS OS (rpool) root filesystem from tape and have it boot without using ZFS snapshot send/receive.

I know that ZFS has a snapshot option which looks like it would work in a small environment but see problems using it on a global scale with a dedicated backup team with limited Solaris skills.

Here is the scenario.

I have a server with two internal disk drives used for ZFS OS.
