Can Potency be accounted for in commitment processing and MRP?

We are thinking about using potency to account for stocking a single product at different concentrations.  When commitment processing is run can the system determine the potency of a given lot of material, compare that to the standard potency on the BOM and adjust the work order quantity to account for the difference?  Can MRP do the same, to understand quantity on hand vs. quantity required?
