Update Realm value within 401 Unauthorized response

Hope you can help me with this. I am working on an HMR which can copy and update the realm "voip.covad.com" within Authenticate header i.e. change the value of realm from "voip.covad.com" to "voip.ims.eng.com". Can we call out WWW-Authenticate header directly ? Can't figure out how the match value should be i.e. how can I capture value of realm within Authenticate header ?
