Trigger Backup Preparer in ARCS

Within ARCS,

When using individual assignments, how can the backup preparer start working on a reconciliation? Two options are:

1. admin to reassign reconciliation to back up user

2. primary preparer to change status is to unavailable, triggering backup preparer to become primary preparer

Are there any other options?
