Enabling Default on-hand material status for an existing Organization

Hi

Currently Default on-hand material status is disabled / grayed out (N) Inv -> Set up --> Organization --> parameters. To have material status control at item level

we are planning to enable default on-hand material status.

please provide impact of enabling this parameter from planning perspective ?
