Cloning of oracle non-rac database-homes to rac database-homes

Hello all,

one question please regarding the cloning-feature of Oracle by using the "clone.pl"-script:

As you know it's possible to use an oracle database-home for copying it to another machine and preparing it

for it's use their over "clone.pl".

Can someone please give a hint if the source oracle must be of the same single-instance- or rac- type for

which it is used also on the target side ?

Meaning:

If we want to use the copied/cloned oracle database-home on the target system in a RAC (clusterware) - environment,

do the source also has to be a RAC (clusterware registered) oracle database-home ?
