On 11g2, can a RAC database have flashback turned on while open? I've seen conflicting information.
In the following articles, I cannot tell if turning flashback on when the database is open is an okay procedure:

In the section - 'Prerequisites'
I have turned flashback on when I'm doing a switchover to a standby - seems to be okay. I want to turn flashback on in my process to do a rolling upgrade using a transient logical standby. So, I just want to verify if turning flashback on when the RAC database is open, is standard practice and an approved process.
