Adding custom view and vpd

in Oracle Transportation Management (MOSC) Question

In order to improve performance on a report query, we are looking at creating a custom view in the REPORTSOWNER schema.  If the underlying view query calls the order release and shipment tables will the VPD settings for users against those tables be applied when the report query is run?
