Journal Entry in Asset Reclass Increases Cost

Hi,

I  have entered a asset in the first period of Migration with Asset cost and Accumulated  Depreciation only – (cost-100, Acc Dep-80) the asset category flag is unchecked for this category.

The New Category for Re class has different Acc Dep code and Dep flag is also unchecked for this as well.

The following entry is generated by the system after Re class is as follow

Asset Cost ( New Category)        180

                Asset Cost (Old Category)                            100

                Acc Dep ( New Category)                             80

Due to this Asset cost is inflated by 80.

How to rectify this issue?

Why the system has inflated the Asset cost to 180 instead of 100?
