Is it possible to default one segment value based on another segment value?

We have a requirement to default automatically the 'Line Of Business' (LOB) value for a user selected value of 'Product' segment. The user need not have to select the LOB value for the product he has selected. We need this across forms and across modules.

For each product value, there can only be a single LOB value possible.

We could create the LOB as a dependent segment, but the user is still having to click on the LOB field and click on the LOV for the value to default. Is there any other way to achieve this?
