Column in Quality not displaying time stamp

We have a requirement in Quality module, where we need to store the time stamp like DD:MMM:YYYY HH:MM:SS in one of the characteristics of the quality plan , i used the data type as Date and Time but still unable to populate the time stamp Any suggestions
