/var/tmp/.oracle running out of inodes - Panic!

edited Mar 1, 2017 7:49AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 9 commentsAnswered

Oracle RDBMS 12.1.0.2

using Grid Infrastructure for ASM and Listener 12.1.0.2

Also configured Oracle Restart and I use srvctl

This is a standalone system, it is not RAC

We are getting alerts that the number of remaining inodes is low.  The mount point /var is only 22% used, but there are a ton of files in there under /var/tmp/.oracle that are 0 bytes in length

When I look inside of the folder there are files from way back in 2014 when we first brought the server up.

Everything that I read says to never touch anything inside of this folder, that it is very important.

Howdy, Stranger!
