How to search only the current revision of an item's attachments using Full Text Search

When searching phrases using full text search, the search results return results for items where the search term was used in a prior revision of the document, but is not included in the current active revision. Is there a setting, smart rule or advanced search that I can create to help our users search only the current active revision of item attachments to find the terms they are looking for?
