=================================

Environment Overview:

3-Node RAC cluster using Direct nfs, with half our databases using DR replication via OGG bi-directionally to and from a secondary data centre. OGG DR is used for about half the databases.  The other have are setup with traditional Data Guard replication to the standby database at the secondary data centre.

We use one-way OGG replication for change data capture (CDC).  The source data comes from a database that runs with OGG DR (as mentioned above, the DR is bi-directional to and from the secondary DC).  For the CDC replication, the source is a OLTP database replicating data using OGG into a OLAP/Data Warehouse database, within the SAME data centre (primary data centre).  The source database is setup with OGG for DR and CDC usage, the target database is also setup with OGG but for CDC only, not DR.  The DR is handled by Data Guard.
