Does Xstore Mobile v16.x use Xstore desktop authorization operations?

When using authorizable tenders will Xstore Mobile use tendering operations configured in desktop Xstore? The Xstore Mobile user guide suggests Xstore Mobile uses its own authorization process. Related question, can EFTLink can be used with Xstore Mobile?
