Which is the preferred option for Oracle ASM on Hyper V - VHD or Raw Disks?

Hi All,

A decision has been made in our company to implement virtualization and they have decided to go with Microsoft's Hyper V virtualization platform.

We have the requirement to migrate some of the Oracle Databases which are currently hosted on physical servers to this virtual platform.

In the current setup we use raw disks for configuring the Oracle ASMLib Disks.

In the virtual environment there are a couple of different options with regards to provisioning the storage - VHD or RAW  / Pass Through Disks.

We would like to understand from the Oracle Experts as to what would be the best option on Hyper V.
