Nonexistent LOB value

A vendor import tool on the application side causes ORA-22922: Nonexistent LOB value.

(This error is an improvement over the ORA-600 that occurred before I changed the parameter "db_securefile=ALLOWED" to "db_securefile=ALWAYS.")

I do not have access to the vendor import tool, so troubleshooting is difficult, but perhaps someone else has had this in 11g and wouldn't mind suggesting possible causes for this error.
