Archive log backups

Oracle RAC: 11.2.0.3.0

Linux: Red Hat 6,8

Nodes: 2

Question: When I run the command in RMAN: LIST BACKUP OF ARCHIVELOG ALL;   I see 3 days worth of archive log backups, which is correct.  But when I go to another directory on the OS that has 2 folders: archive log and backups.. It shows 1 days worth of archive log. Those folders were created by someone in the past who setup this backup process.  I also see 1 days worth of archive log backup in the FRA folder.

I am just wondering why I see 1 days worth archive log backups in FRA and folder on the OS, while seeing 3 days of archive log backups in RMAN.
