Issue with Sol10 SUNWsolnm version and Oracle 12c upgrade

I have a Solaris 10 system where the DBAs are trying to upgrade to Oracle 12c, but are getting prerequisite  errors preventing them from continuing with the installation.

The error they are reporting is complaining about the kernel version.

It is expecting 5.10-2011.8 (or better) but is seeing 5.10-2008.10.

This is a system our team just started supporting, so it does not follow any of our normal patching schedules and likewise with any other standard practices, so I am somewhat unfamiliar with the system from the start.

The DBAs are confirming the system status with pkginfo -l SUNWsolnm | grep VERSION. The full output is:
